What's New With Us

We have some exciting news coming to our community. We are presenting the very first Lynchburg Community Theatre Festival! This idea stems from the earliest days of the Foundation when the board began brainstorming ways to bring the theaters together. We all realized that we are rarely able to socialize with each other outside of participating in a show. Wouldn't it be great to celebrate all things that make our theater community so special, without having to rehearse at the same time? Thus, the idea of the Community Theatre Festival was born.

This is going to be a spectacularly fun event. The theme is "Show Tunes Prom Night!" There will be music, dancing, food and drinks, games, raffles and door prizes, and so much more.  Along with celebrating our shared loved of theater, this will also be an opportunity to learn more about the theaters in this area. Every theater will be given a space to showcase their season, productions, participation opportunities, and anything else they would like others to learn about.

We have a fantastic "prom committee" that is hard at work planning this event. It is most important that this event be done on an evening when all the theaters are dark and no other theater events are scheduled. This is where the theatrical calendar available here on our website comes in handy. Believe it or not, there are very few dates where all the local theaters are available throughout the year! Thus, this event will be held on January 18, 2025. Ticket information and details will be forthcoming in the months ahead. In the meantime, clear your calendar and plan on joining us for what is sure to be a wonderful evening of socializing, networking, entertainment, and celebrating our beloved theatrical community.
